Membership
to the Biochemistry Section is opened to all members of the Science Society of
Thailand who are interested in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. When
one applies for membership to The Science Society of Thailand, please specify
in the Society 's application form with which Section
of the Society one wants to participate. One can apply to participate in more
than one section of the Science Society.
Contact
The Science Society of Thailand for current membership financial charge (life
membership, annual membership, or student membership). The Biochemistry
Section does not charge additional membership fee.
Benefits
of a membership to the Biochemistry Section
- Eligible for attending BMB National
Symposium at a special rate.
- Eligible for domestic travel
fellowships (see details below).
- Eligible for international
travel fellowships provided by the Section or by each year
's organizing committee of a FAOBMB symposium or Congress (see
details below).
- Can apply to attend each year 's summer workshop on various topics. The
workshop was mainly aimed at high school teachers or people in various industries.

- Vote to elect new Chairperson
of the Biochemistry Section as well as new President of the Science
Society of Thailand by mailing in respective election ballots every other
year.
- Could be invited to serve as
the Section 's committee member
- Attend the annual meeting of
the Section, normally organized during a STT congress and vote on various
issues or raise issues. (Free meal is usually served.)
- Attend the annual meeting of

each year) and vote on various issues or raise issues. (Free meal is

- Get discount on a
registration fee on the STT conference, and others.
- Member receives a monthly
issue of the (Thai) Science magazine, published by the Society (usually
free for some category of life-membership. Contact The Science Society of
Thailand 's Secretariat, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, for current details.).
- Members of the section may
also enjoy some priviledges given by FAOBMB or
IUBMB such as special journal subscription rates, etc.

Some
more remarks on fellowships
Every
year, the Section provides a number of travel
fellowships for members to present their research work in the annual Congress
on Science and Technology of Thailand. Check
with current committtee for latest information.
Eligible members of the Section must not be a residence of the city which hosts
the STT congress in that particular year. Priority will be given to those
who had not obtained a fellowship from the Section before.
Few travelling fellowships to attend and present outstanding
research work at an annual FAOBMB symposium or congress in a foreign country is
usually given out every year by the Biochemistry Section. Priority will be
given to those with good research quality. Abstract and formal request must be
forwarded to the Section 's Committee as early as
possible. The fellowships given in each year may vary, and may include
only an economy air-ticket or registration cost or accommodation, or all.
Check with the committee for details of the current
policy. In addition to local fellowships, members of the section
are eligible to request a travelling fellowship from
the organizing committee of each year 's FAOBMB
symposium or congress. They are requested to submit their application via the
Section as well.
